It was great news this morning when the doctors told us that Leo would be moved out of the intensive care and back to the oncology wing again. It obviously meant that he was improving and did not need as much monitoring. This was amazing as the doctors had told me that the surgery Leo had was the most serious surgery anybody could have, even more serious than heart surgery. So 5 days after this operation he was going to a normal ward, I knew he was a fighter! His eyes were opening more and he recognized us. He seems quite alert and the doctors shone a light in his eyes and his pupils were quite responsive. We felt a lot more relaxed just seeing his big brown eyes again. We slept in the same room as him and felt like there was a light at the end of all of this.
